What Once Was....
Our family has always had roots to farming, in fact it dates all the way back to the great-great grandparents of grandparents. Our farm started as a working dairy farm founded by my grandfather, Norman, for his young growing family. The dairy farm was in operation until 1995 when unfortunately the fate of a small farmer found its footing on our property. We were able to keep everything but the cows, and some of the equipment.
We made due other ways, like by renting out our barn boarding heifers, and renting out our fields for crops etc. In 2000 my uncle met a Boer Goat farmer from Texas who got him sold on the idea of raising/owning boer goats and he bought a pair. As everyone knows a pair turns into a few, a few to a dozen and so on and so forth. I myself have been a "part" of the herd from the beginning and would not have it any other way.

The Human Herd
Charlie
Often referred to by us as the "papa goat" Charlie is the main grit and grind behind our operation currently. He is a full time dairy farmer at a large farm down the road from home as well as being a full time goat farmer at home. Charlie does just about everything when it comes to our "kids." He is out there early mornings and late nights making sure all is going well on the home front. He helps the girls out with tough kiddings, makes sure everyone is eating and doing well, and works himself to the bone to make sure everyone is comfortable and preforming at their max. He is out there all summer mending fences, counting heads to make sure everyone is accounted for and keeping everyone right on schedule with deworming, vaccines and anything else a goat needs to keep on the right track. If you want to talk goats, he is the guy you want to call!!

Chester
The founder of Meyer Beebe Boer goats, Chester is the one who brought the bright eyed bundles of joy into our life. Upon coming home from school in the fall of 2000, I found that there were 2 "buggy eyed" creatures in our barn. Having recently at the fair stated that I would love to have a goat I was exstatic. Being fairly green in the field of goats during those days, Chet went to many meetings and seminars and learned all that he could about the pleasant critters. Still very active in the farm today, Chester is unable to do much in the barn due to physical limitations, but he still avidly attends seminars and meetings to keep the rest of us up to date on the "know" of the goat industry. He is a great asset to the business, and of course a fantastic member of the family.

Becky
Hello :) I am Becky, the voice behind our website, and the future of the Meyer Beebe Boer goat operation. Also with the farm from the start, my heart belongs to the goats (as well as all of the other furry creatures in the world..) Full time Licensed Veterinary Technician, I help my dad (Charlie) out with all that I can. I help with anything and everything that needs to be done around the farm as much as possible. Having a full time job and a "farm" of my own I am stretched at what I can do down the road. With the extra animal experience under my belt I help with deworming schedules, vaccinations, kidding troubles, feeding, fencing- you name it I do it. I also manage the publicity portion of having a boer goat business, I design our business cards, handle our website and our facebook. I also keep all of our records up to snuff in an organized manner.
